This past fall, we proudly celebrated our 15th anniversary.  We’ve come a long way from our original yard in Woodinville and want to thank all of you for helping us to continue this valuable work.

In 2009, Second Use diverted more than 1,360 ton of reusable building material from the landfill – our biggest year yet!

So, what does that mean exactly?  It works out to around the equivalent of:

  • 1030 ton of avoided CO2 pollution
  • 4,837,301 kilowatt hours
  • and 132,893 gallons of gas

You can see what kind of impact you had in 2009 by visiting our online embodied energy calculator.

In addition, donations through Second Use, to our Habitat for Humanity partners helped to raise more $175,000!  That’s almost enough to build 2 Habitat homes.

We hope that, in the coming year, we will be able to do even more to fulfill our commitment to you, our customers, and the community.
