Materials Used: Vintage closet door with original coat hooks, used fencing cedar 1x 4s, metal lattice, and Ikea clearance bin kitchen cutting block stand.

Creation Process: I wanted a garden potting bench but they are usually overpriced and poorly designed. A repurposed $10 door was the perfect backbone for this project. I went with a pre-made base found cheaply at Ikea mostly for strength and better engineering than I could pull off building one from scratch in my garage at home.

Inspiration: I kept seeing potting benches at the Seattle Home and Garden show but knew I could make something easily and cheaper. Total project cost is $60 for an heirloom quality bench.”
