Salvage & Deconstruction Services | Second Use

Salvage Services

Whether you are a homeowner, contractor, designer, manufacturer, or retailer, our professional and experienced crews can help you reclaim reusable building materials from your home or jobsite. We have trucks on the road 5 days a week to:

  • Pick up materials
  • Remove reusable fixtures or materials

If you have materials or a project that Second Use can help you with, the next step is to contact us.

Drop it Off

The easiest and fastest way to get rid of your reusable materials is to bring them to our store. Our Receiving Department is open 7 days a week, from 10 to 5 (10 to 4 in Fall/Winter). You don’t need to make an appointment, but you may want to call ahead to see if we’re interested in your material.

Our Field Crew:
  • has five trucks
  • is fully licensed and bonded
  • and does around 1000 salvage jobs each year
  • (not counting the other 2000 jobs that are Received at our store)

Material Pick-Up

Can’t bring it to us? We can pick up larger quantities of reusable building materials at your home or jobsite. For high priority projects, our crews can respond quickly, in some cases the same day. For smaller quantities of material, we try to bundle pickups in a particular geographical area to maximize efficiencies.

Please contact our Field Crew to arrange a pick-up.

Material Strip-out

A material strip-out, also known as selective non-structural deconstruction, is when our crew removes reusable fixtures or materials from your building. In most cases, this can be done prior to receipt of a demolition permit and if it’s a remodel, we will do our best to work with your timeline, in order to avoid project delays.

To determine whether a project is well suited for a strip-out, typically we need to do a site visit or have you send pictures of the materials to be removed and a clear description of the access and logistics at the job site.

Please contact our Field Crew to learn more about a jobsite preview or strip-out.

Additional Services

Working together with professional partners, Second Use can provide solutions for your building and materials removal needs.

  • Surplus & boneyard material collection
  • Green demolition services
  • House moving
  • Waste removal and recycling
  • Please contact our Field Crew to learn more about these services or to discuss your specific needs.

    Material Acceptability
In all cases, materials must be reusable and meet our acceptance criteria. Materials we consider to be of marginal interest may not be eligible for a pick-up or strip-out, but may be acceptable for drop-off at our store. Please contact Second Use if you have any questions.
