Plaster Ship’s Wheel – Fox Theater/ Music Hall
$ 125.00
Plaster ship's wheel from a space that was intended to be called the Mayflower (nautical thread) that, before opening, was changed to the Fox theater - known to some as the Roxy, the 7th Avenue, the Emerald Palace, and Music Hall. The Fox theater opened in April of 1929. Music Hall was demolished in January of 1992 after efforts to preserve this masterpiece of architecture. Between opening and demolition, the building was used as a movie theater, as a dinner theater, and as a space for public gatherings. A link to stunning black and white photographs of the space. Two of the plaster handles are available at customer service.
