36″ Mahog Obscured 1/2 Lite Door
$ 135.00
Vintage, stained mahogany half lite door that came to us as surplus materials from the old seminary building at St. Edward State Park in Kenmore. This one has a recessed panel below a half lite of obscured vintage glass on one side, while the other side has the the panel & glass neatly covered by a thin piece of plywood & some trim. There is probably sheet rock & plaster under the plywood for noise reduction. Although this door was used in an interior application, it is exterior thickness and could be used that way. We did a practice removal one of the covers over the glass on another door and most of the sheet rock/plaster took about fifteen minutes to get off, but to really get it to shine, you'll spend a couple hours getting it cleaned up. Hence, the bargain price on the "covered half lite." This one's glass had been painted on the textured side, so it'll be a bit more work to get it cleaned up.
We received a bunch of similar Mahogany doors from St. Edward's! – view other items on the job to see what's left to mix and match!
