During the pandemic, we want to make sure those that are interested in shopping at Second Use remotely can do so. Second Use has made the following changes that we expect will make shopping easier for all of our customers.


Current store hours, for phones and in person shopping, are Monday – Saturday 9:30am-5:30pm. Our Seattle store is also open by appointment only on Sundays.


We accept holds via phone, voicemail, and email. During open hours, it’s always best to get in touch with a live person over the phone, but we will be accepting holds over email and voicemail even during our closed hours. These holds are processed in the order received each morning. Things to know when placing a hold:

  • Call or email the store where the item you wish to purchase is located.
  • You must include your full name, phone number, email address and item numbers you are interested in.

Our phones do not accept text messages. Your hold is not in place until we confirm it with you. You will receive a confirmation once your hold is in our system.


Whether you’re on a schedule or just limiting your time in public, curbside pick-up by appointment is an option. Call ahead to schedule a day and time for curbside pick-up. Call the store when you arrive and let them know your name and what you are picking up and what vehicle you are arriving in. We will bring your items out to you ASAP.


Second Use staff can help with loading your materials, but your load is your responsibility! Bring the right vehicle and any needed packing or strapping materials. We may have some spare cardboard and we sell ratchet straps but coming prepared is always best practice.


We had waved our restocking and storage fees when we were open for pick-up only. Restocking and storage fees are now back in effect. Space is at a premium at Second Use. We like to keep the store full of fresh salvaged materials, so our storage space for purchased items is limited. After the first 7 days, which are complimentary, storage fees are $5/day or $20/week per item and are charged in advance. If you need to leave your items beyond the complimentary 7 days, let us know and we’ll set you up with storage. We accept returns on materials in unaltered condition. Returns within 30 days are refunded to credit card or by check, and returns between 31-90 days are refunded to store credit. A restocking fee of 10% is charged on all returns.
