Freestanding 16″ Globe Light
$ 450.00
This freestanding Chicago made globe is set into a solid mahogany base that spins and is attached with a brass latitude stamped mount. Based on some of the listed countries, we're guessing this is from the late 1940's / early 1950's. (Israel is listed, Korea isn't split, but Siam is there as well) The light does need to be rewired as the wiring is very very old. The globe itself has one little piece of paper missing that allows light to shine through that section (over Africa and about the size of my pinky nail) Additionally, the top pin that holds the globe securely in the brass bracket is missing. It's not in danger of falling out, but you need to use a bit more care when spinning it as-is. What a lovely piece of history!
