Primitive and very cool 2-piece grinder that I imagine was once used to pulverize grains with ease and efficiency. The top piece is funnel shaped, leading into the grinding space between the two pieces, which consists of a bunch of steel tabs set into each chunk of wood. Not so different than your modern handheld herb grinder, eh? There is a rectangular slot on one side, which I am guessing is a place holder for a handle. This is HEAVY, likely constructed from some sort of tropical hardwood. Throw a glass top on it for one heck of a side table, put a plant in it, use it as intrigue-filled decor or put this baby back to use!
