This beam was glued up using perpendicular lengths of wood--which are called cross laminated timbers. Not sure what it would be rated for structurally, but it sure looks like it would make a heck of a good counter or bar top. Scales out to 151 board feet. Has some checking, and the edge(s) may not be perfectly square or straight.
