1880s Pipe Cutter

$ 20.00

This is a pipe cutter made by the Barnes Tool Co. in 1883-84 in New Haven, CT. The Barnes Tool Co. closed down some time in the '30s, and this century and a half old tool still has some functionality! The blades seem like they're probably too dull to cut any pipe, even copper, but the threaded handle still spins like it came off the production line yesterday. It doesn't look like the blades are replaceable, but you may be able to sharpen them and use the tool with a bit of effort.
