This is a different variety of saw set than what we usually see. The "Tru-Circle, Automatic Saw Set, Model 10" was made by A.D. McBurney of Hollywood 28, Calif. It's intended for use with circular saw blades and uses a punch to set the teeth. Even has a spring to return the punch & a pack with various washer sizes for different arbor holes. It would be kind of a cool thing for the tool lover in your life to put up on the shelf.
