A big, beautiful Hope Chest with what seems to be mahogany construction (very light color to the wood, may possibly be Avodire, or a mix of material), save for the bottom, which is ply. The exterior has a nice, dark varnish, with brass handles on either side, while the inside is unfinished, showing the wood's naturally light color. The walls of the chest are pretty thin, so there's loads of storage space inside- blankets, pillows, linens sets, board games, you name it, it can probably fit! There's some definite wear and tear, mostly the usual scuffing and scratching of pre-owned furniture, except for the gouge in the center of the lid. Price reflects.
