The back rests of the chairs have a little, almost Bambi-esque scene painted, depicting a stag frolicking through a forest. There's some subtle wear from previous use, and the backsides of the seats' rims has "Ethan Allen Thumb Back Chair" painted on them in a similar style to the stag scene, though they're a bit more faded and harder to read.
