Ahoy! Here's a bit of nautical history- a brass Perko spotlight used on ships! It's still attached to the pivot/swivel mount with some of the old wiring (though you might want to redo that before using it) sticking out of the bottom. It doesn't look like brass at first, just a heavily weathered gray, but if you scratch a little bit into the paint and grime, you'll see that bronze shine- there are even a few areas that seem to have developed a patina despite the paint. Maybe that's the salty sea air, though. A perfect project for making sure your entire neighborhood knows which house is yours, a collection, or as a perfect gift for the salty sea dog in your life.
