Nearly black piece of stone with some lighter flecks here and there (sort of the look of black pepper). I believe it's granite, but I'm not a stone expert. All sides are finished, but only the front edge has a routered profile. The "return" on one end juts out about 3" and is about 9 1/2" long, so you'd have ~39" long piece if you cut off the return.
