Beautiful Antique Walnut Roll-Top Desk. Beautiful figuring throughout, loads of burl. Looks to be handmade (as opposed to the machines).
br> Dovetail joints throughout. The roll top glides smoothly down to show off its elegant burled curves. The main desk area slides out to create a workable space, as well as a small slide out counter on each side of the desk. Four main small drawers are visible with two small drawers concealed behind the larger drawer on top. Two doors on the bottom open to a swath of storage, while the smaller door in the main work area opens to a smaller area. The desk is on casters.

While this piece is in amazing shape for its age, there are signs of wear and use. The original mortises are included for all of the locking compartments, but they keys provided do not work. The back of the upper part of the desk is gone, but does not impede function or aesthetic. There also appears to be some smaller railing that has not survived that used to adorn the top.

Personally i would use this piece as is. Its gorgeous.
